Dr. Joshua R. Chapa is a graduate of Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Science degree. Dr. Chapa completed his dental and specialty training in Periodontics and Implantology at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio in 2009, where he received his Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.), graduating magna cum laude. Upon graduating, Dr. Chapa pursued his postdoctoral education at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. Regarded as one of the best programs in the nation, Dr. Chapa received both his postdoctoral certificate in Periodontics and Master of Biomedical Science (M.S.) degree from this institution in 2012.

Prior to coming to Austin, Dr. Chapa worked in private practice in Dallas, TX, as well as a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Restorative Dentistry at Baylor College of Dentistry. At Baylor, he was tasked with developing a graduate program, teaching didactic and clinical implantology and tissue augmentation to AEGD and Prosthodontic residents. Dr. Chapa is a diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology and has remained active as a member of the American Academy of Periodontology, Southwest Society of Periodontists, American Dental Association, Texas Dental Association, and the Capital Area Dental Society. Dr. Chapa has lectured both locally and at The University of Texas Health Science Center, San Antonio (UTHSCSA) and Baylor College of Dentistry.
